Title: All things WTAPS./78th entry「IF IN LIFE」

I have been fortunate to have blog over at the site called Honeyee.com.
Looking back, it has been going on for 5 years.
(Technically speaking this includes times absent also)
The last few years I have made up a set format
using a tripod to take a set photo of my desk at the atelier
and writing about what goes on daily.
My day starts when I reach the atelier.
I try to document and leave behind my feelings of the day with reality.

Many things happened this year.
Globally, for the country we live in, and also personally.

It is November from today.
The weather is really sunny.

Today ends
tomorrow arrives
and also the next day after comes.

Time layers on and life goes by.

I think of such things during the crimson foliage autumn.

Title: All things WTAPS./77th entry「Heavy gauge」

One of our standards, the BLACKWATCH, is planned to hit the stores next week.
The looks are of the popular pea coat, but this season the material is
not wool but 100% cotton cord.
A fabric with fine ridges and a strong rigid feel.
On the inside is a mid fill to help retain heat
creating a heavy finish that is good for the coming season.

Also, the stitch work is a noteworthy detail.
By purposely choosing a thick thread (heavy gauge), it highlights the stitching
creating a textured feel with a rich expression.

Threads come in various thickness and material;
what gets chosen depends on how you want to show the stitching
through design, material, and modifications.
The differences may seem hard to tell unless you look up close,
but it is a very important factor when composing clothing.
Why not change the angle of how you look at your favorite pieces of clothing?

Title: All things WTAPS./76th entry「Kinmokusei (Orange Osmanthus)」

The seasonal change of clothes finishes around when Kinmokusei flowers fall.

The hot season has completely finished
and many people may feel some loneliness during this time, but personally I have childhood memories of how
“seasonal change of clothes = treating yourself to new clothing or belongings”
so the smell of Kinmokusei and the cool evening air brings some excitement to me.

Shorts change to trousers
short sleeves change to long sleeve shirts and jackets
making it about time for boots to make way.

As the years go by I do worse with the colder weather
but as far as clothing and what I put on
I truly cannot wait for the new season to arrive.

Title: All things WTAPS./75th entry「Cross bones」

These are cross bones that are representative of WTAPS
but if you look into the past you find a few different patterns for the shape
and in the methods of expression
there are prints done with silk screen
and also embroidered versions chosen for the VANS SYNDICATE sneakers.
Other than those, there are also the stickers which were available
at the PHILOSOPHY-STORE.

This season, the design has been updated
using a stencil template and painting.
They are all applied one by one by hand so the thickness may vary
and some may be a little worn or smudged;
the finish gives it character as they are all unique.
It may be cool to add more character by applying your favorite motif
with a stencil and not only paint but maybe even spray.

Title: All things WTAPS./74th entry「THIS IS A PEN.」

It is not so extreme in a way that you cannot write
without that one or you cannot get motivated without that one
but still, I think
stationary is something that people choose based on their preferences.
Stationary like pens and notebooks are something I feel that are
intimate to most people’s daily lives.

Especially pens come in all sorts of variations like brand, type,
color of ink and the function and price vary also;
they are an item where you can somewhat easily tailor to your taste.
Of course I have my cluttered preferences that I may only understand
but it is not monomaniacal; it is more like a simple rule above
“pretty much either works okay”.

But if I have to give a specific criterion that has to be met,
it would be to have a set group of the same pens.
For things that are slim and thin, the thought of how the
beauty of group theory absolutely exists may seem quite monomaniacal
but the ball pens released this season are displayed at the
GIP-STORE not individually but all lined up
and I felt this was something truly beautiful.

Of course it is also fun to observe the
luxury pens at a place like Itoya from all angles
and to be deferentially attended.
But I really think there is another form of enjoyment you can have
by looking through a different set of eyes than when you look at jewelry items.
