Title: All things WTAPS./90th entry「Flipside」

When purchasing WTAPS products, you receive the item in a brown envelope shaped bag at the store.
This bag re-used at the atelier in many ways.

It is used in many different ways such as when sending small things or paperwork out,
or even when sending large things out the glued ends are taken apart making a single flat sheet of wrapping paper and used to wrap things.
Not only as a wrapping material, but using it inside out and showing the graphics makes a good book cover and also gives uniformity when the books are lined up.

Since it is also the inside of the bag products go in,
it is something that does not get noticed much
but this inside graphic has changed also
compared to previous bags.
Just like the product, because it is the flipside does not mean we can be caught slipping.

Title: All things WTAPS./89th entry「Look out for another year」

A Happy New Year to all.

The WTAPS 2012 Spring/Summer catalog work is moving along started in the old year and into the new.
This time marks the 10th catalog so it may be some sort of milestone.
The WTAPS catalog has been uniform in binding, shape, and format since the first catalog.
The enjoyment as each new catalog is made, is something that can be had for those collecting it, and of course for those making it along with their feeling of satisfaction.
In my case I am fortunate to feel a sense of achievement in both aspects of the form that it becomes, something you can hold, and the packed speculative subtleties that you cannot see.
To start is excitement and to end is appreciation;
during this process it is natural to feel frustration and distress
and while this simple formula of start, develop, climax, and finish is universal for anything, all of this is packed each time into such a small book.

Title: All things WTAPS./88th entry「Closing thoughts」

2011 was a year for us Japanese
that left us with memories which we will not forget.

A new year, 2012.
I feel that for us Japanese our mission is going to be
how to sublimate these feelings etched in our hearts.

A future with possibility.

The sun rises
the sun sets
and everyday comes.
The everyday that no one can stop.

The same day will never come again
and everyone feels for the new day.
Yesterday is the past that will never come again.
Tomorrow over today.
Tomorrow has more potential than yesterday.

Title: All things WTAPS./87th entry「Gifts」

There is already less than 2 weeks remaining for this year.
During this timeframe the city is in full Christmas mode
and the days are busy with bonenkais and end of the year work.
During all of this, I always think about souvenirs while
at parties and events.
Unlike buying something for myself, I go around many stores
thinking of what to buy or not.

WTAPS offers some items that work well as souvenirs.
Of course there is clothing, but sizing is difficult so it is hard to choose.
On the other hand, items perfect for winter like hats and gloves, or
useful mugs and small items like accessories are easier to choose.
Sometimes going on a souvenir hunt is refreshing.

Title: All things WTAPS./86th entry「Footprints」

The people I met, things I found, and what I have experienced in my path of growing are all things that are irreplaceable and very valuable to me.
But to be able to utilize this or waste it is up to how I am now.
There are still many people at the frontlines doing their thing not making “those days” something of the past.
There are many doing many things in many places.
It is truly exciting.
I would like to be at the frontlines of as many things possible.
It is possible if you have the respect towards those that keep continuing in whatever field along with a steady body clock.
It is up to what you are now to use or waste that knowledge.
The more you stay focused and hold your ground,
the footprints will leave their mark stronger.
