Snack Bar

This is located where people frequently pass by in the atelier.
When you get a little hungry in the afternoon, or even good for guests.

Right now it is full with gifts and presents from various people but to keep it like this everyday, it requires a little attention. Depending on the snack, the consumption rate differs and the staff’s tastes vary. If you leave it alone thinking “someone will take care of it”
it turns barren quick
so you have to take care of it in a timely manner.

Attention and care like this is not something unrelated to our regular work. Actually, I think it is a job that can be done only after realizing small things.

A person appears who is a lot younger than yourself but is really impressive;
in any field of work
and no matter what age you become, I think this is something that always happens.

You are lucky if someone like this shows up
while your body and mind is still flexible.
So just sit back and watch.
They probably are doing something that is excitingly new.
You might even realize what you have forgotten to do.

But the opposite of this is when your mind and body is not flexible anymore
and from giving up or through guilt from what you did not do
it becomes a form of jaundice
ignoring them or not being able to acknowledge them;
in extreme cases finding fault being high and mighty and interfering.

Mistaking youth and noobness is something only acceptable by the youth.
We should not brush off their youth with noobness.
This is not something vital for them,
but I think it probably is for us.

The preparation for the next exhibition in autumn has already started.
This means these are the 2010 Spring/Summer items.
At the atelier, this season’s samples will be gathered again
and the narrowing-down process of the items will take place.
Time is taken for this stage which determines the season’s rough outline,
and after the timeline is set, the pace goes up from there.

The next exhibition will mark the 20th exhibition for WTAPS.
Even if there is something with no problems by just maintaining,
regarding processes which we have experienced, we focus on
trying to increase efficiency taking the future into consideration.
If nothing is done, then there is also no progression.
Because of the “margin” created from this,
you can finally start to prepare for the next new thing.

Everyday when it becomes noon at the atelier,
we all have lunch together.

Sometimes box lunches are bought, sometimes delivery is ordered,
and there are also times when the staff makes something.
The different daily menu is a little something to look forward to everyday.

For a hot day like today…
cold somen noodles were served
which really made our day.

This time where everyone gathers around one table
at the call of “Mealtime!”
is pretty important.

During the upcoming season,
it is quite common for your
pants pockets to be stuffed with many things.
Can’t wear a jacket so
capacity shortage strikes from time to time.

Small and light, but
not really something to put in a big bag
and something you don’t want to carry in your hand…
For something like that
a small lightweight bag comes in handy
that has a thrown on cloth feel.
