Title: All Things WTAPS./227th entry「At the Jingumae press room」

In the processes of making the new catalog, the part I handle is almost over.
16th catalog, the 16th time to do this. It may sound like I have been doing the same thing for 16 times, in words it is simple, but it is different. Since it is the same thing, you have to make it better regardless of how small or large the difference may be.

Looking at the printed paper checking things over and over, I always end up thinking back to when I started this.
While discussing the colors of the new catalog with the same person in charge as back then, I end up venting a bit, and receive a kind and thoughtful reply of yes I remember that, making me feel even more regretful.
Thinking back about then, I guess the more excruciating the experience was, even trial and error methods while at one's wits' end, become knowledge that may sprout improvement.

Title: All Things WTAPS./226th entry「The excitement up until the photograph is created」

I like watching how photographers shoot. To the point that I would like to be able to switch places and see how they see things, to be able to see exactly what they see the moment the decision is made.
Especially for product shots, our request is only to have it portray the items information and details; this may be something very rough, but it is very interesting watching how various steps may be taken to fulfill this request.
What angle for the lighting to make things float above, what angle to shoot at to convey the hardness of the material. It is really a learning experience to be able to watch how this is done meticulously while still proceeding on in a limited time frame.
So, while totally caught up in observing, I ended up squeezing the polaroid I was holding to warm too hard and caused it to leak.

Title: All Things WTAPS./225th entry「Stimulation and harmony」

Regardless of the size of the project, when tackling something new I reset my feelings back to when I just started this line of work.
While trying to find the work flow of the job, I also get excited as I see the whole picture created as it gradually and precisely builds up.
As the meetings progress, I get blown away when I see how fragments of memories coming up from the corner of the mind along with feelings of affinity towards things relate and flow into the same direction regardless of how each bit may be different.
Stimulation and harmony. I feel these are the essences of when many things of different styles come together to create something.

Title: All Things WTAPS./224th entry「序」

A Happy New Year to all.
We look forward to your ongoing support also for 2015.

Usually the first day of business for the year is in the middle of winter; stepping outside while thinking of how it is so cold, I notice and feel each year how the city is so different from the 1st, how it looks busy and bustling.
Actually, the feeling of what the New Year is, may be a lot shorter lately than what it used to be.
But, the first greeting of the year is "akemashite omedeto gozaimasu". Watching the staff and customers greet each other with these words, I solemnly think to myself that I guess not many days have gone by yet since the 1st.

Thank you to all of those which made it out early in this new year.
We will try our best this year too, to be able to show you a new form of WTAPS.
