January 2015

Title: All Things WTAPS./223rd entry「Done」

There is only a few days left for this year.
Just like it has been up to now, we produced spring/summer and autumn/winter catalogs, and we were fortunate to be able to show everyone also through various media.
It was also a year where it took form of keeping a spirit to advance each time; this could be seen repeatedly in the daily routine for not only our press, but in each department, and also all the staff which handle WTAPS.

"Placing things where they should be." The brand concept, the words I have used to explain.
I feel this year I gained a deeper understanding of this.
There is advancement even in such things.

We look forward to your ongoing support even through the next year.

Title: All Things WTAPS./222nd entry 「The destination is where you want to go」

The 2015 spring summer catalog shoot ended place the other day.
This will be the 5th WTAPS catalog in the current form. The whole shoot was done by Taro Hirano.
The shots are not fashion style image cuts, but they were decided on through the conversation between Taro and the director; it was born from the transaction of the two.
It is a brand catalog, but it is not an actualization of an image for a collection which changes its concept each time, so each shoot the location and shots from it are quite personal and realistic. I hope that change and versatility was able to be expressed within this.

Title: All Things WTAPS./221st entry「Firsts」

The first movie you saw, the first record you bought, and magazines you used to read back in the day.
I do not know why, but it is so exciting and fun talking or hearing about these things.
No doubt it is information to understand that person accurately and in brief; I also feel it is interesting how you can unravel the background of the era along with how society was too.
Movies and music are released and are around for years, so sometimes after you speak about it, it somberly sinks in how long ago it was.

I can see what kind of adventurous spirit I had back then when I think of how I clearly remember the first time I went to a shop, the shop's atmosphere, and how I was nervous while the staff there talked to me as I purchased an item of my favorite brand. But, I cannot remember what I bought. I clearly remember the impact I had when the staff came out from way under the cash register though...
By the way, a regret I still have to this day of not buying something is the BUDS down jacket. I remember with envy every once in a while of my friend wearing it.

Title: All Things WTAPS./220th entry「What is important, is to keep continuing, said someone.」

There are good times, and there are also bad times. There are times you may lose your sight on what to do, there are times you may be at your wit's end.
Let us say there was a guidebook which showed "how to continue on fairly calmly without any major doubts or troubles," but the way each one thinks or feels is different, further you add interpersonal relationships and their distances, then create a pattern and sort; there is no way possible you could do this.
If I was asked if I did not waste any time, there is no way I can honestly say so, but when looking back I can say it was not a waste. Everyday small reflections add up in trying to find methods for the better; lately I have been feeling how that ends up creating the result of being able to continue.
