Title: All things WTAPS./170th entry「Seeing is believing」

This is about the other day.
I was blessed to be able to go to a country I have never been to before.
Thanks to the long travel times, difference in weather, and jet lag,
I was able to know again how big the world is.
In a land I visited for the fist time, my daily life was a little different from what I was used to
and the things which I heard from people
I was able to confirm with my own angle in actual scale.
There were many different people, many different cultures and history,
many different values existed
and even with things like this that are super normal
I really felt it by being a foreigner.

This time too I was able to have a great experience.
Seeing is believing is such a well put saying.

Title: All things WTAPS./169th entry「Lost paths」

The other day we did the shoot for the next catalog.
This time again we asked Taro Hirano.

From during initial meetings, no further back than that,
listening to our designer and Taro talk
I am amazed by the mysteries of communication.
Of course, they are friends since elementary school
so thinking of how long they have known each other well
it is normal to think they can communicate well
but it is not just that, more something like an unknown telepathy
like planting one seed and seeing ahead the forest that will grow
so many talks back and forth like this
and they probably do not notice
but people that have many forms of ways of conveying
do not take steps for initial understanding in a lost way gauging a feel
and as much as I am amazed, I feel envious at the same time.

Title: All things WTAPS./168th entry「201-205」

Summer is coming.
I feel summer sprints past you faster than any other season.
Maybe because of this, but I sort of think Japanese summers
have a feel of festivity and loneliness at the same time.
I feel you see more people's smiles than any other season.
In my lifetime how many more summers can I spend?
It is also a season that I think of such ephemeral things.

Also our atelier
will close a chapter of history this summer.

Title: All things WTAPS./167th entry 「A single grain」

Rice is a must have item for the meals of Japanese, and they are a group of small grains, but
I feel the single grain is important in how it contains the feelings of the one who made it.
It is a valuable thing which was created by taking a long time.

Something really small, something normal, thinking of such a daily thing
I re-think how there are important meanings in things often forgotten,
and how there are feelings put into things.
To create for someone, although the thing may be different, in this action there
is a sincerity towards the someone, and I think the same feeling is necessary
at the time when you receive it also.

For lunch at the atelier, delicious rice is cooked which was harvested from one of our staff's homeland. Truly appreciated.
